November 12, 2015 – January 2, 2016
Greater Philly Photo Day Exhibition: November 12, 2015 – January 2, 2016
Opening Reception: Thursday, November 12, 6-8 PM
On October 9, we asked you to help us capture 24 hours in the region on Greater Philly Photo Day. Well, you didn’t disappoint us! Transcending the boundaries of age, background, or skill level, photographers from all eleven counties shared their perspective in this day-long celebration of our collective creativity. Now, with 1,412 stunning photographs in hand, we’ve compiled each and every shot in a public exhibition running November 12, 2015 through January 2, 2016.
Join us at the PPAC Gallery on Thursday, November 12 from 6-8 p.m as we kick off the opening of this year’s incredible exhibit. Afterwards, you can view the alphabetically arranged photographs during normal gallery hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1400 N. American Street.
Can’t wait? Visit the PPAC website now to preview the online gallery, order prints, and even view a geotagged map of where photographs were shot.
Since the inaugural Philly Photo Day in 2010, which drew just over 300 photos, PPAC has expanded to all eleven counties in the Greater Philadelphia region, including New Castle County in Delaware; Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, and Salem Counties in New Jersey; and Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania. Each event has culminated in a celebratory exhibition, allowing seasoned professionals and budding artists alike the opportunity to say they took part in a group gallery exhibition.
For the past three years, Greater Philly Photo Day has been made possible by PNC Arts Alive, a major supporter, as well as GDLoft and Shades of Paper. Additional thanks to Bokeh Fire Lens Rentals, Metro, PhotoLounge, and Yards Brewing Company – and our Kickstarter campaign supporters – for their generosity in 2015.
