Join 2023-2024 A.I.R. Program recipient Cass Arrington on February 8th from 6-8pm for an intimate viewing of their work, previous and ongoing. During their residency, Arrington has explored themes of beauty, gender performance, urbanity, and kinship through portraiture. With approaches ranging from discrete street photography to collaborative documentary photography, Arrington spotlights the fraught but fruitful delineation between self-definition and collective understanding.
Cass Arrington is a poet, photographer, and videographer. Growing up in the Philadelphia visual art and poetry scene, Cass developed an enduring relationship with the arts as a means of survival. They channeled this perspective into their own practice, endeavoring to bring the poetry of Black queer realities into visual language with a 35mm film camera.
