Join us and PPAC member Jay Roth will be showing his photographs at Front Street Cafe! This exhibition, which is a part of a partnership between Front Street Cafe and the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center, will be up through April.
“In my professional work as a mental healthcare provider, I take care of elderly people who are in pain, forgotten, lost, or suffering. Every time I encounter a patient, I try to reflect on that person’s life to see how I can help – even if it is only to be a witness to someone’s life, long after that person has lost the ability to recognize themselves in a mirror or remember who they are. I bring this same compassion and way of seeing to my work as a photographer. The subjects that I choose for each photograph have been forgotten, lost, or passed over by time. Through photography, I aim to bear witness to the stories of these places and objects.” – Jay Roth
