Jaklin Romine - #6
ACCESS DENIED
(2015 - Present)
When encountering inaccessible exhibition receptions at galleries located in Los Angeles, Jaklin would remain outside of the space for the duration of the event, asking her friends or strangers to document her performance using video and photography. This photograph is one of those performances that took place at the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive. Jaklin’s disability was the catalyst behind her decision to incorporate photography in her practice and has become a recurring theme in her work.
