Mounting + Framing

Framing

We collaborate with each individual client to arrive at a finished piece that best represents the work. We work with high-quality archival materials to ensure your artwork will last a lifetime or more.  We offer wood and metal moldings in a variety of sizes and finishes, as well as multiple options for glazing and matting.

Because each framed work is highly customizable, pricing for framing is made upon request. Please call us at 215-232-5678 x 3 or email kyahrling@tiltinstitute.org.

Mounting + Lamination

Mounting photographs to a rigid backing is a tried and true way to display fine art prints. We offer a variety of backing surfaces to mount work to and can provide a secure cleat system to the back of unframed mounted prints.

We offer face mounting, where the fine art print is mounted below an optically clear sheet of plexiglass and backed with your choice of material and cleat system.

We also provide gloss, luster, and matte UV overlaminate options for protecting the face of your fine art print.

Front

Plexiglass face mounting
Face mounting provides a unique look to display your fine art prints. You have the option to mount your print under clear, UV, non-glare, and abrasion-resistant-UV-non-glare plexiglass finishes in 1/8” and 1/4″.

UV Film Lamination
UV film lamination protects work that is not framed behind glass from the elements. A clear, thin, archival film is applied to the surface of your print and is offered in a matte, luster, or gloss finish.

Back

Plexiglass
Plexiglass is a long-lasting and rigid material that is available in clear and black finishes in 1/8” and 1/4″.

Aluminum
Aluminum is an extremely smooth and rigid surface. We offer aluminum with a thickness of 0.63.

Dibond
Dibond is comprised of two very thin aluminum sheets with a solid polyethylene core. It is extremely smooth, rigid, and lightweight, which makes it perfect for large fine art prints. It is available in a 3mm thickness.

Sintra
Sintra is a higher density PVC board compared to Gatorboard and Foamcore. It is lightweight, archival, and available in white or black. We offer 3mm and 6mm thicknesses.

Gatorboard
Gatorboard is comprised of polystyrene foam that is bonded between two layers of wood-fiber veneer. It is non-archival but more rigid and durable than Foamcore. It is available in a thickness of 3/16” and 1/2″ and is available in black or white.

Museum Board
Museum Board is a traditional option for framing and finishing. It is made of 100% cotton, is archival, and is available in 2, 4, and 8 ply thicknesses and in a variety of colors.

Foamcore
Foamcore is comprised of polystyrene foam bonded between two layers of paper. It is non-archival, lightweight, and is often used for temporary displays. It is available in black or white and has a thickness of 1/4″.
