Thursday Night Photo Talk w/ Paolo Morales

Take Care of Each Other

October 1, 2020
7 PM EST

Paolo Morales will share several projects that describe a photographic preoccupation with the ways people appear alone, sometimes lonely, and desperately seek to connect to others. From the work he created as a graduate student photographing a family in Providence, to his current project in Philadelphia titled Memphis Tulips, Paolo will describe the path he took in his professional life as a teacher and how that influenced his work as a photographer.

Paolo Morales is a photographer. He grew up in New York City and lives in Philadelphia. Recent solo exhibitions include Hamiltonian Gallery, The George Washington University, and XYZ Art Gallery at VirginiaTech. Group exhibitions include the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New York Asian Film Festival, and the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Artist residencies include Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, Blue Mountain Center, and Philadelphia Photo Arts Center. He received an MFA in photography from Rhode Island School of Design and teaches at The Agnes Irwin School.

Support for Thursday Night Photo Talks is provided by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Artist fees for the Thursday Night Photo Talks have been underwritten by The Lillian F. and Jerome L. Sindler Fund for Visual Media.
