Join BmoreArt, AIGA Baltimore, and TILT Institute for an online conversation with photographers Devin Allen and Bill Gaskins moderated by BmoreArt’s Jeffrey Kent and Cara Ober.
Devin Allen is one of eight photographers featured in Dynamic Range, the first exhibition at BmoreArt’s Connect+Collect gallery that explicitly includes the magazine’s contributors. The exhibit’s goal is to present each photographer as a skilled and multifaceted artist, distinct from their ongoing work with the publication but also revealing overlapping concerns. He gained national attention when his photograph of the Baltimore Uprising was published on the cover of Time in 2015. His work is included in the collections of NMAAHC, the Lewis Museum, and the Studio Museum in Harlem.
Bill Gaskins is the Founding Director of the Photography + Media & Society MFA and uniquely suited to guide and support thought-leading producers of contemporary visual, material, and media culture. His depth of experience represents a rich tapestry of practice, teaching, research, and writing on photography and media as a vital social mirror and visual phenomenon. Photo credit Steven Adams.
