April 22nd @ 7PM EST
A little more than a year ago, the Women’s Mobile Museum (WMM) concluded with an exhibition at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center (PPAC). Led by internationally acclaimed South African visual activist Zanele Muholi, ten Philadelphia women challenged the barriers of contemporary art. Filmmakers Cindy Burstein and Anula Shetty documented the yearlong project. Women’s Mobile Museum: Portraits of Visual Activism is a unique vision of Muholi, the ten participants, and their journey to reclaim the space and function of creating art.
Q&A will follow the screening with Directors Cindy Burstein and Anula Shetty, and WMM artists Tash Billington and Muffy Ashley Torres.
