Born in the U.S. to a family of Soviet political dissidents, Tatiana Grigorenko’s work centers on history and its representation. Through a conceptual practice rooted in photography, she examines how images construct history and explores strategies of revolt and resistance, transforming the hegemonic manipulation of reality into a creative act of opposition.
Based in Paris, Tatiana exhibits internationally. She has been a finalist and recipient of numerous grants and awards, including Prix BMW, Creative Capital, Fulbright Foundation, CEC ArtsLink, Yale University and the Thomas J. Watson Foundation. In 2024 she completed a residency with CEC ArtsLink in Berlin and received a full fellowship for a residency at the Vermont Studio Center. She holds a BA from Amherst College and an MFA from Yale University School of Art.
