This class will cover all aspects of doing portrait photography as a business. We’ll examine the different genre of commercial portrait shooting: editorial, advertising, corporate, headsets, family portraits and weddings. Exploring both the business as well as the practice, students will learn new lighting techniques, composition, posing, processing for skin tone, and retouching techniques. Additional topics, such as getting work, marketing to businesses, and advertising agencies will be discussed as well as pricing strategies for different types of clients. Each student will be able to share their work and develop marketing techniques and strategies for creating a bigger and better body of work to promote.
