Caitlin Teal Price is a mixed media artist making works on paper that explore a tension between photography, drawing and painting. She paints and then draws onto photographic images of fleeting light, using a reductive technique that involves precisely incising lines and gouges into the surface of the paper. In this work, concrete forms are extracted from daily life in a curious investigation of what lies between the instantaneous and durational aspects of time, space and matter.

Price earned her BFA from Parsons School of Design and her MFA from the Yale School of Art. Her work is included in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, American University Katzen Art Museum, the Robert V. Fullerton Museum, and National Museum of Women in the Arts. Price has been exhibited at the Fotografiska Museum, the Sarasota Art Museum, and the National Portrait Gallery, and featured in publications such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, and TIME Magazine. Her monograph, Stranger Lives, was published by Capricious Publishing in 2016. Price is a co-founder of the non-profit artist space STABLE and currently maintains a studio in both Washington, DC and Queens, New York.
