TILT Institute for the Contemporary Image will be holding its annual fundraiser event, InVISION, on May 2, 2025! Join us as we celebrate our community of image makers and our city of Philadelphia with a night of drinks, music, food, a print sale and auction plus a preview of this year’s Philly Photo Day, a community-wide open call. All artwork sales benefit not only TILT but the individual artists as well. In addition to supporting our community of artists, InVISION offers a great way to start or build your art collection!
InVISION reminds us that in times of divisiveness or uncertainty, art pulls us together. TILT has been using the image to unite diverse communities of Philadelphia for over a decade. As our annual fundraiser, InVISION makes it possible for TILT to keep the lights on and our programs running. Our goal is to raise $145,000 in core support. TILT receives program support for initiatives like our Artist in Residence (AIR) and our free after-school program, Teen Photo, but very little general operating funds, which are critical to the organization. All proceeds make it possible for TILT to foster a space in our community to learn, network, create, and engage in socially conscious dialogue through exhibitions, fine art printing, free programs, artist residencies, and youth education.
InVISION reminds us of the power of the image. Core support makes it possible for TILT’s community to strengthen. And right now, when so much feels uncertain and the image changes in positive and negative ways, it’s more necessary than ever to support our community through our work.
This year, we will be honoring TILT’s former Trustees: Christine Lussier (Treasurer from 2014 -2024) and the late Richard Jaffe (Vice-Chair from 2017-2024) as the inaugural members of TILT’s Emeritus Board. The Emeritus Board honors the dedication and service to TILT by Trustees who gave a long time of service, mentorship, support, and expertise. I hope you can join us in celebrating and honoring their years of service.
If you are unable to attend InVISION please consider a donation of any amount to help us reach our goal thus making a considerable impact on InVISION’s success and TILT’s mission.
Patronage is a great way to show your support for the creativity and artistic spirit in our city and your belief in making art available and accessible to all. Other additional benefits include:
Participate in Philly Photo Day between April 7 – 13 and attend the opening reception during InVISION 2025.
Support our community of artists with the purchase of a print or item from our local community.
Help sponsor InVISION 2025.

Richard P. Jaffe’s life was a testament to his deep connection to Philadelphia. From his early days at the University of Pennsylvania, where he met his future wife, Julie, to his distinguished career at Duane Morris, he remained a constant force for good. As a brilliant lawyer, a passionate advocate, and a dedicated mentor, Richard’s influence has touched countless lives. He was a leader in the business community and a compassionate supporter of those in need. Beyond his professional achievements, he found balance and peace as a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor and embarked on many adventures with his family.
Richard was also a champion of the arts and active in many arts and cultural institutions and the Tilt Institute for the Contemporary Image. Richard was critical in the founding of TILT in 2009 and later joined the Board of Trustees in 2017 as the Vice Chair where he remained a steadfast supporter, advocate, and friend until his passing in March of 2024.
