Photo III: Ideation + Intention is a workshop-style course, students will bring a project idea still in its early stages of development to the first day. They will learn and work through critical techniques to engage in a visual project’s development. Students will consider their project’s concept, visual language, and their relationship by engaging in visual research and multimedia sketching assignments. Three central readings will be used as a guide to thinking about ideation, intention, and how they culminate into a project that is engaging and ethical. Students will engage in regular group discussions and develop their projects through feedback received from group critiques. At the end of this course, students will have an understanding of how to critically develop a project both conceptually and visually, and they will know the steps that help to create images that reflect a central idea with intention.
